Do you believe that every single thing happens with reason? Have you ever felt so upset that you really can’t bear your feelings anymore? I do believe all of us must have face these kinds of situation at least once in a blue moon..

Have you ever thought why sometimes in life, you hope of something good, but adversely it turns out so bad that it makes you mad?

After all, perhaps we know the answers. It’s the way Allah swt tests us, our faith, our patience. Allah swt mentioned;

“We shall surely test your steadfastness with fear and famine, with loss of property, life and produce. Give good news to those who endure with patience; who, when afflicted with calamity, say:"We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return." (Al-Baqarah 2:155-156).

The fact is that life is a test. He may test us in various ways. Wealth, health, lineage, success, poor, failure, sickness, etc. are kinds of test. Everyone of us shall go through a trial and be tested. Allah swt said;

“Do you think that you will enter paradise without going through the trial? Allah has not yet tested you to see who among you strive hard for His cause and who show patience for His sake”. (Ali Imran 3:142)

When facing with those tests, how do we react? Did we seek for his mercy, ask for His forgiveness, be grateful or just being an ignorant person? Please think and rethink…

Indeed, in Surat Yunus Allah swt said;

“If Allah afflicts you with a calamity, none can remove it but He; and if He intends to bestow a favor, none can withhold His bounty. He bestows it on whomsoever of His servants He pleases; He is the Forgiving, the Merciful." (Yunus 10:107)

Hence, when facing with any calamity, turn to Allah swt, seek for His forgiveness and be patient. By His will that calamity will end and mercy will be shown. Allah swt commanded us to seek His help with patience and that He is with those who have patience.

“O' You who believe! Seek My help with patience and prayer: surely, Allah is with those who are patient”. ( Al-Baqarah 2:153).

And, when we are bestowed with His mercy, be grateful and say ‘ALHAMDULILLAH’!!
